MARY HELEN LITTLE

MARY HELEN LITTLE

Mary Helen Little is the founder of The Little Network where Mary Helen works with students to encourage them to take actions now to pave a positive path forward into a life filled with opportunities. In addition to teaching primary skills, like building a resume and how to interview, Mary Helen teaches soft skills to include making a positive first impression, conflict resolution, effective communication and more. There is focus throughout the classes on what it means “to go the extra mile” and “do the right thing” to build a story and personal brand that opens doors to a bright future.

Prior to The Little Network, Mary Helen built a very successful career with Manpower. Mary Helen began her Manpower journey as a temporary employee working on various assignments. Resourcefulness coupled with determination resulted in the opportunity to be hired as a recruiter in the office and then to be promoted to Branch Manager within a year, making her the youngest Branch Manager in the country. Her competitive spirit, strong leadership and passion to make a positive difference for both employers and candidates led to the addition of territory to include Manpower operations across three states. Mary Helen worked alongside her team with employers of all sizes to help them find staffing solutions and worked with entry level candidates to seasoned executives to help each of them find meaningful work. In addition to her role as Regional Director, she was selected to coordinate volunteer activities to better our communities and the lives of others for all Manpower branches in the southeastern part of the country. Her region received many national awards and year after year was recognized for their level of exceptional service to both employers and candidates.

Mary Helen, a native of Atlanta, Georgia, graduated from Auburn University before making her home in Dothan, Alabama. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, flower gardening, and “giving back” to positively influence others.

Brooks Brown

Brooks Brown

Brooks Brown is the founder of My Right Thing, a company he created to spread a positive message of doing the right thing and how that affects the world around us. He has used both multimedia and direct contact with the community through volunteer campaigns to achieve this goal. Brooks has recently created the My Right Thing 501(c)(3) school clubs to teach students positive characteristics that will help them be successful in both their personal and professional lives, all while showing them the power they have to make a difference in their community.

Brooks previously worked in the medical field as a surgical device consultant. During that time, he developed his confidence in approaching and solving the toughest problems, his ability to communicate and direct under pressure, and his interpersonal and management skills needed to build successful, professional relationships. These skills led Brooks to be sought after by surgeons for consulting on some of the most difficult surgeries in his territory, despite his relatively young age for the industry at the time. His business experience has given him an advantage when approaching local businesses for support in volunteer efforts. It also helped him gain first-hand knowledge from interviewing and managing associate consultants, which he now relays to students.

Brooks is originally from Dothan, Alabama, graduated from Auburn University and has since lived in both Georgia and Texas. He returned to the Southeast in the Fall of 2019 to pursue his passion for helping others and is now an instructor of Opening Doors transition classes. This program provides students with invaluable skills to help them succeed in their lives after high school, as well as soft skills to help them become more well-rounded individuals. Brooks is adamant about constant self-improvement and hopes to instill that in the young people he works with.
